Donations & Spending

Thank you to everyone who has donated their time, money and expertise to the campaign. It has turned out to be a long-term battle and it has put a considerable strain and pressure on residents.

Amazingly the community is still committed to stopping Royal Mail’s reckless plans for Patcham and we need to be respectful to one another and united as a community on this cause in order to win.

To date, we have spent a portion of people’s kind donations on a number of campaign materials and activities. Below is a full report and financial statement since 30 November 2022.

In addition to this, we have also secured a number of experts, reports, services and venue hire on a pro bono and donation basis that are not reflected in these accounts. This includes:

  • Several reports and recommendations from Hardy Planning
  • Legal advice from Leigh Day
  • Use of the Village Barn for three village meetings
  • Website development and hosting
  • Consultancy advice from a number of environmental, heritage, engineering, charitable and communications firms.
  • Sewage water testing

This campaign is not affiliated with a political party or organisation. For the campaign to succeed, we need to continue to work across political party lines.

Why have all the campaign funds not yet been spent?

Unfortunately the fight against Royal Mail’s plans for Patcham continue. Ahead of us is the Council’s Planning and Resources Committee and we may also need to pursue an appeal. A portion of money has been kept aside because we do not yet know how long this battle will continue for and we may need to buy materials or pay for some further expertise during this crucial period.
